Education that fits your life
Our department offers a number of popular and highly-ranked graduate certificates, led by the No. 2 big data certificate in the country. Each certificate program consists of four courses. Click here to watch a short video about our graduate certificate programs.
The entrance requirements for each graduate certificate are different. Please click on each certificate for a description or contact us for more information.
Our graduate certificates are open to anyone holding a bachelors, masters or doctoral degree in areas such as business, social sciences, technology, engineering, or related disciplines who have the required pre-requisites for the courses in the program. You must maintain an average cumulative grade point of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale in the certificate courses in order to receive your graduate certificate.
You may apply to be admitted specifically to a graduate certificate program. If admitted, you will have non-degree graduate status but will earn graduate credit for the courses completed. If you complete the four graduate certificate courses with a grade of B or better in each of the courses taken, you may be admitted to the MBA or masters in IST program. You must, however, follow the normal application process.
Graduate certificate programs may also be used as a pathway to a graduate degree program and credit earned in the certificate can be counted toward a master's degree. A student needs to earn a B or better in each certificate course to continue on for their master's degree without needing to submit GRE/GMAT scores. Please keep in mind that starting with a certificate does not waive any prerequisite requirements.
CERTIFICATE TO MASTER'S DEGREE
For students who started their program with a graduate certificate (who earned a B or better in each certificate course) and now wish to continue on for the corresponding master’s degree.
Students should apply to continue with their master’s program during the last semester of their graduate certificate.
Students completing a business or IST graduate certificate (and have earned a B or better in each certificate course) must submit the following materials to apply for the MBA or masters in IST program:
